Book Recommendation: A Year in High Heels

(Image - Google)

I bought this book recently in The Works for only 99p (!!). I thought I'd share since it was such a bargain and also beauty/fashion related, so you may well be interested! The book has an unusual layout. It’s set out by months and talks about important dates that month, various “how to’s” and at the end of each month a “foot note” about a particular style of shoe. I learnt so much from reading this book, not just about fashion but things like “how to flip a pancake” and “how to dance”...sounds very odd I know, but well worth a read, especially if you can get it for 99p!

Anyway, I'll update with better posts soon....school work at the moment is tough! xo

OOTD

Hi guys,
First of all I'm sorry for the lack of posts this week. I have so many things I want to write about but I've been back at school this week, have had a French oral and been super busy so haven't got round to it.

I wanted to do another OOTD post (I know I do a lot of these, but they're fairly quick and easy to put up!). I'll also show you my prom dress at some point and a few other things :)

So yesterday was a really lovely day and I went out with my grandparents in the evening. I wore my new Republic dress, which definitely couldn't be worn as a dress! Sorry for bad picture, I didn't have much time!

Dress - Republic
Cardigan - Zara Basics
Leggings - M&S
Shoes - H&M

Enjoy! xo

NOTD: yay or nay?

Hello!
This is the nail polish I've been wearing for almost a week now, it's the Barry M freebie I got with Top of the Pops magazine (see more about that here). When I first got them the green was the colour I wanted to try the most because I thought the colour looked really pretty and retro plus I don't think I've ever had green nail polish on before! I had to put two fairly thick coats on in order to get the colour just right and although this usually makes nail polish easier to chip I'm really impressed to say that after 5 days it still looks okay.

So as you can see, it's definitely green! However I'm really undecided whether I like it or not. I thought it was a really cool colour at first and perfect for spring, and then I went to see my grandma and she gasped and said it was "witchy green" (not exactly the look I was aiming for lol). So let me know, is green nail polish a go-er or not?!

I'm Back! + Holiday Buys

Hi guys,
I'm back from Wales and I had a lovely time! The weather was pretty good this week so we managd to get down to the beach a couple of times. We also had a shopping day in Chester on the way up to North Wales and I wanted to show you what I bought.

Sandals, £18 & Bag, £3 - Tesco

Jumper, £15 (reduced from £32 which I'd been eyeing up for a while so was very happy to find it in the sale!) - Miss Selfridge

Dress, £19.99 - Republic (which has recently become one of my favourite shops!)

Cath Kidston style notebook, £2.75 - a cute boutique :)

I also bought a prom dress which I will show in a separate post. I'm not 100% sure it works for me, or that I like it, so I'll be calling on you guys to give me some advice!

Hope you've all had a lovely weekend! :) xo

I'm Going Away!

I just wanted to let you all know that I'm going to North Wales tomorrow for a few days. My family own a house there and I'll be meeting up with family, spending time on the beach and maybe some shopping in Chester or Liverpool one day! I'm really excited because I've been working so hard this holiday doing revision that I feel like I need a holiday. So I won't be updating my blog until I'm back on Monday and I'm sure I'll have lots to tell!

This is a picture of the beautiful sunset at the beach which I took last time I went, in the summer :)

Have a lovely weekend and I'll write soon! xo

Book Recommendation: Petite Anglaise

Hi guys,
This is my first post of this sort and I'm not entirely sure if I'll be doing more in the future, but this book is particularly relevant to the world of blogging but let me know what you think of this sort of post!

(Image - Google)

A true story, written by Catherine Sanderson aka Petite Anglaise, a world famous blogger. The story tells of her life in Paris (which makes you want to jump on the Eurostar and move there for good!) and how her blog affects her relationships with the people around her. I'm not going to give a massive description of the book, because I'll probably give it all away, but I do recommend you give it a read, especially if you love Paris and all things French, like me. I was so happy to read bits of French dotted throughout the book, and I know the wise old saying "don't judge a book by it's cover" but I couldn't resist because the cover is so cute! hehe. I'll definitely be looking to buy her other book French Kissing soon.

Hope you're all having a lovely Monday :) xo

Barry M Kohl pencil
A gold shimmer eyeshadow (sorry no idea where it's from, the label has worn off)

NOTD & Product Rave!

Hi guys!

I thought I'd show you my NOTD because it's the nail polish I got for Easter, and many of you were interested in it! It's from Boot's 17 collection in Mint Choc Chip. As you can see the colour is actually more like a pale blue, but I really like it and it's perfect for Spring/Summer!
17 nail polishes are actually one of my favourite brands for nail polish. The colours are great, they application is lovely, it doesn't chip and they are very good value at only £2.99! I definitely recommend you try out one of these nail polishes and see what you think :)

So here it is.....

And these are the other nail polishes I have from this collection (which I hope to expand soon!).....

(L to R = Firecracker, Burned Cherry, Mint Choc Chip & Tropical Island)

Enjoy! xo

Barry M Cosmetics Freebie

Hi guys!
I just wanted to give you a little heads up about a really cute deal at the moment. Free with this month's issue of Top of the Pops magazine are 3 mini Barry M nail paints! I have never bought this magazine before, but saw the nail polishes and had to get it. I'm a sucker for cute packaging and the little bows won me over haha! The magazine retails at £2.45, which I think is a lot for the magazine's content, but for the nail polishes alone it is well worth it (they actually retail at £2.95 so a great bargain!)

Enjoy! xo

Easter Treats

I hope you've all had a lovely day and haven't got too sick on all that chocolate!
I just wanted to share with you the gorgeous gifts my parents got for me. Although I'm a big chocolate lover, my family know that I can't eat a lot of it in one go, so they give me other gifts as well :)

I absolutely love this little bag and my mum told me that it's actually called Hannah so it was made for me! Lol. I also got a pretty pink gingham umbrella, a chocolate buttons easter chick, a gingerbread biscuit in the shape of a lamb, a cute necklace and a 17 nail polish. I'm one happy girl! :)

Enjoy! xo

Happy Easter Weekend!

Just a quick post to wish you all a very Happy Easter and if you're in the UK then have a lovely long weekend!

Here are a few decorations at my house.....the tree is something we do every year so I guess it's a tradition! We have flower fairy lights and lots of Easter decorations (chicks, eggs e.tc.)

I also made cookies yesterday! They are bunnies and chicks/ducks (although I'm afraid some of them look like dinosaurs lol!)

I'll be celebrating Easter by going to church tomorrow morning then having a nice meal with some family. I'm really looking forward to it!
How do you celebrate Easter?

Have a great weekend! xo

ASOS Order!

I received my ASOS order yesterday, which I'd ordered on Friday. I was really impressed with the delivery because I'd gone with the cheapest delivery option (£1.95) and was told that I wouldn't receive my parcel until Wednesday 7th April, however I got it only 2 working days after I'd placed my order! I definitely won't be using the more expensive delivery option after that!
I got 2 summer items this time, which I am itching to be able to wear but it seems like a long way off.... I have lots of exams and a very stressful time ahead before I get to enjoy the summer :(
So here's what I got:

These floral culottes were £14. They're jersey material, quite loose fitting round the leg and I can tell they would be really cool on a hot summer's day.

This dress (£18) caught my eye because of the interesting top vest which is loose fitting and longer at the back. I was a bit concerned at how this would look on, because of course the model looked great, but I'm pleased it looks pretty good. Again this is going to be lovely in the summer.

Both were from the Petite section, and both are actually the same fabric (although it was hard to tell from the website). They also come in the same print but black and white :)

Enjoy! xo
