Book Recommendation: A Year in High Heels

(Image - Google)

I bought this book recently in The Works for only 99p (!!). I thought I'd share since it was such a bargain and also beauty/fashion related, so you may well be interested! The book has an unusual layout. It’s set out by months and talks about important dates that month, various “how to’s” and at the end of each month a “foot note” about a particular style of shoe. I learnt so much from reading this book, not just about fashion but things like “how to flip a pancake” and “how to dance”...sounds very odd I know, but well worth a read, especially if you can get it for 99p!

Anyway, I'll update with better posts soon....school work at the moment is tough! xo

OOTD

Hi guys,
First of all I'm sorry for the lack of posts this week. I have so many things I want to write about but I've been back at school this week, have had a French oral and been super busy so haven't got round to it.

I wanted to do another OOTD post (I know I do a lot of these, but they're fairly quick and easy to put up!). I'll also show you my prom dress at some point and a few other things :)

So yesterday was a really lovely day and I went out with my grandparents in the evening. I wore my new Republic dress, which definitely couldn't be worn as a dress! Sorry for bad picture, I didn't have much time!

Dress - Republic
Cardigan - Zara Basics
Leggings - M&S
Shoes - H&M

Enjoy! xo

NOTD: yay or nay?

Hello!
This is the nail polish I've been wearing for almost a week now, it's the Barry M freebie I got with Top of the Pops magazine (see more about that here). When I first got them the green was the colour I wanted to try the most because I thought the colour looked really pretty and retro plus I don't think I've ever had green nail polish on before! I had to put two fairly thick coats on in order to get the colour just right and although this usually makes nail polish easier to chip I'm really impressed to say that after 5 days it still looks okay.

So as you can see, it's definitely green! However I'm really undecided whether I like it or not. I thought it was a really cool colour at first and perfect for spring, and then I went to see my grandma and she gasped and said it was "witchy green" (not exactly the look I was aiming for lol). So let me know, is green nail polish a go-er or not?!

I'm Back! + Holiday Buys

Hi guys,
I'm back from Wales and I had a lovely time! The weather was pretty good this week so we managd to get down to the beach a couple of times. We also had a shopping day in Chester on the way up to North Wales and I wanted to show you what I bought.

Sandals, £18 & Bag, £3 - Tesco

Jumper, £15 (reduced from £32 which I'd been eyeing up for a while so was very happy to find it in the sale!) - Miss Selfridge

Dress, £19.99 - Republic (which has recently become one of my favourite shops!)

Cath Kidston style notebook, £2.75 - a cute boutique :)

I also bought a prom dress which I will show in a separate post. I'm not 100% sure it works for me, or that I like it, so I'll be calling on you guys to give me some advice!

Hope you've all had a lovely weekend! :) xo

I'm Going Away!

I just wanted to let you all know that I'm going to North Wales tomorrow for a few days. My family own a house there and I'll be meeting up with family, spending time on the beach and maybe some shopping in Chester or Liverpool one day! I'm really excited because I've been working so hard this holiday doing revision that I feel like I need a holiday. So I won't be updating my blog until I'm back on Monday and I'm sure I'll have lots to tell!

This is a picture of the beautiful sunset at the beach which I took last time I went, in the summer :)

Have a lovely weekend and I'll write soon! xo

Book Recommendation: Petite Anglaise

Hi guys,
This is my first post of this sort and I'm not entirely sure if I'll be doing more in the future, but this book is particularly relevant to the world of blogging but let me know what you think of this sort of post!

(Image - Google)

A true story, written by Catherine Sanderson aka Petite Anglaise, a world famous blogger. The story tells of her life in Paris (which makes you want to jump on the Eurostar and move there for good!) and how her blog affects her relationships with the people around her. I'm not going to give a massive description of the book, because I'll probably give it all away, but I do recommend you give it a read, especially if you love Paris and all things French, like me. I was so happy to read bits of French dotted throughout the book, and I know the wise old saying "don't judge a book by it's cover" but I couldn't resist because the cover is so cute! hehe. I'll definitely be looking to buy her other book French Kissing soon.

Hope you're all having a lovely Monday :) xo

OOTD & FOTD

Hi :)

I went out with my family last night to a family friend's house for dinner. It was really lovely, food was delicious and here's what I wore....

Outfit
Black top - Dorothy Perkins
Beach kaftan - Tesco
Jeans - Dorothy Perkins (These are my usual skinny jeans but I decided to turn them up since the weather has been beautiful!)
Shoes - Marks & Spencer

I also did my make-up (very quickly lol) and took a couple of pics, however the lighting was impossible to get right so it's hard to tell what I'm wearing and I also look very pale :(

Face
Maybelline the falsies mascara
Collection 2000 sheer moist foundation
Barry M Kohl pencil
A gold shimmer eyeshadow (sorry no idea where it's from, the label has worn off)

Enjoy! xo
