NOTD

Hi there!
It's been a couple of days since I made my last post but I now have reason to blog! :) I painted my nails yesterday using a Barry M nail polish I got at the Clothes Show a few months ago. I have to admit that I had never tried any Barry M products but I decided to buy a goody bag at Clothes Show and see if it's all as lovely as everyone else says it is! For £10 I got a bunch of products (nail polish, eye glitter, eye pencils and lipglosses), some of which I passed on to other people as Christmas presents (lol) as I wasn't a fan of the colours!

The nail polish I tried this weekend is called Barry M Mulberry Pink. It's a very pale pink, so in order to cover up the white's of the nails you really need 2-3 thick coats. I find this a bit off putting as I love strong colours on nails, but I thought I'd try something different and I have to say I think the colour is really pretty! I've found that this nail varnish hasn't lasted that well. I painted it on yesterday and already it's coming off at the tips. Overall I would give this product 6/10. The colour is pretty but I really can't see it lasting any longer than 3 days.

Also, while I'm on the topic of nails, you'll see from the pictures below that my cuticles aren't in the best of shape. I find in the winter that they go red, crack and become really dry. It's horrible. I've been using No.7 Nourishing Nail and Cuticle Cream since December and I would definitely recommend it! I rub a small amount onto each cuticle every morning and find that it really helps to moisturise and restore damaged cuticles! For those of you living in the UK I suggest you get this with your £5 No.7 voucher which are being given out at Boots at the moment :)

Enjoy! xo

Herbal Essences

I have just used my last bottle of this Herbal Essences shampoo which is really sad because they are no longer making it as it's being transformed into some other kind of shampoo :( I've used this shampoo for years and years and love it. It's perfect for my hair type and it smells amazing, really fruity but not overpowering! My hair always feels soft and fresh after washing with this shampoo and it doesn't make my hair go greasy. It's such a shame that I won't be able to use it again :( However I have bought its replacement so I'll give that a go (even though I'm not entirely convinced it's gonna be great!) I'm also gonna look into other shampoos. I have quite oily hair so my hair can't take too much 'product'. I hate shampoos which make your hair feel sticky and gross so I'm pretty hard to please. I've tried a few shampoos before but never found one I liked so always went back to my lovely Herbal Essences. Anyway I'll keep you updated on my search for another shampoo!

Style Icon: Zooey Deschanel

Hi there!
This blog post is about one of my style icons, Zooey Deschanel. I watched (500) Days of Summer today, since I was off school ill :( and it really cheered me up! I love Zooey's style, it's like a breath of fresh air..so light, innocent and summery! It's got me all excited for summer now. Below are a few pictures so you can see Zooey's style, and hopefully you'll agree with me that she has a unique style which can be easily replicated by wearing lots of florals, dresses, pumps, hairbands, pearls and bows! I also made a Polyvore with a Zooey Deschanel inspired outfit. It's definitely an outfit I would wear myself in the summer and I will be on the search for a lovely floral print dress for this year!

Recent Purchases

I thought I would share with you some bargains I picked up at the weekend and over half term which was the week just gone. School at the moment is so stressful as we get ready for our exams which are getting ever nearer! Therefore the half term was a very welcomed break and of course because I was off school and had nothing better to do (other than revising pahaha!) I went shopping!! So here's what I got;

Firstly I got this gorgeous bag! I'm addicted to handbags as all my friends and family know, so I didn't actually NEED this bag, but hey! I just love the pattern, it looks very Cath Kidston which is brilliant considering it was only from Primark costing £6!! Bargain :D This is going to be a staple in my summer wardrobe, which I am seriously doubting will ever come (as I write this we are having yet another snow shower!!). However the only downside to this is that already I have seen a number of other people with the same bag. This happens if you shop in Primark but at the moment I love it so much I don't care haha.

The second thing I bought was these cowboy ankle boots. I'd been in search of some ankle boots for a while, but I am so fussy I could never find anything I liked! I got these from Brantano which is a shop I never go in, so it was just lucky that my mum was like hey let's just pop in here! I really like these boots, they were £30 which I think is pretty good (even though they aren't leather). I was umming and erring at the time but I'm so glad I bought them because now I've got them home and tried them on with my own stuff they look much better and hopefully I'll be wearing them a lot!

This is from the G-21 range at Asda. It cost £8, so another bargain in my opinion! It's supposed to be a crop top but they didn't have my size so it's actually a bit big and doesn't look that cropped! It looks good anyway though. It's not usually the sort of thing I would go for but it's cute! I think I'll wear it out for dinner, or to a party with a black mini skirt and black tights. :)

This was another Primark purchase, which was supposed to be £8 but when I got the till was only £3!! :O I think this little skirt is so cute..I love the heart pattern and the ruffles. The picture above is the front view and the picture below is the back view.

So overall I think I had a very successful spree! Let me know what you think!!

My First Blog Post!

So as the picture says Oh My Gosh! This is my first official blog post! yay! I've spent ages trying to get the layout looking cute and since I'm a perfectionist it really has taken a long time! And I just know that I will want to change it again soon, but for now I'm happy :)
I'm hoping to blog here as much as possible, about my life and my loves....fashion, make-up, accessories (handbags in particular!) and art. So if any of these things interest you then please follow my blog and I promise to get to work :P

Enjoy for now!
